In Tune? Ted
Malone, a radio show host, told of a Idaho shepherd
who once wrote to him Malone honored the request. Later he received a "thank you" note from the distant shepherd saying, "NOW... I'm in tune." Similarly,
SIN
causes US to be "out of tune" with God.
The scriptures teach us that "ALL have
sinned and fall short of the glory of God"
(Romans 3:23). In
addition, SIN
separates us from God (Isaiah 59:1-2),
causes us to live our lives in "discord" Without the "right pitch" to provide the proper intonation for our hearts, many spend their lives struggling but unable to find the "KEY" to TRUE life and fulfillment (John 10:10). However, God sent His Son, Jesus, into the world to make provision for us to be in tune with God. This provision required the substitutionary death of Jesus for our sins. When we place our faith in Jesus (Acts 16:31), repent of our sins (Acts 17:30-31) confess Jesus before men (Romans 10:9-10), and are baptized into Christ (Galatians 3:27), our sins are washed away by the blood of Christ (Acts 2:38; 22:16) and we are in tune with God. As we continue to walk in harmony with the will of God as revealed in His Word, the blood of Jesus keeps us in tune with God (1 John 1:7). Jesus
struck the "perfect note" for
our reconciliation with God as He hung on the cross
for the sins of the world - a note that has "resonated"
down through time unto our very OWN ears (1John
2:1-2) CAN YOU HEAR IT? Have you
responded to Him with an obedient faith so that you
can be brought back into harmony with
Him? Are YOU "in tune" with God? God bless you!
