Darren Taylor, otherwise known as Professor Splash, claims to have set the Guinness World Record for the highest shallow dive. Officials at the Guinness Book of World Records are checking his claim. On
July 25, 2007, Professor Splash was invited to In an interview with 9NEWS, Professor Splash said his technique is to "skip across the water" when he makes contact with it. He also added that "experience and research" is the key to his success and that what he does is not easy. * It is amazing what people do to get their names recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records! The world offers many venues to those who seek to make a name for themselves. It is an age-old problem (cf. Genesis 11). The ways of the world, however, are short-lived (1 John 2:17) and destructive (Matthew 7:13-14). There is a much more important book in which all of us should want our names included. It is called in Scripture, “The Lamb’s Book of Life” (Philippians 4:3; Revelation 3:5; 13:8; 17:8; 20:12, 15; 21:27). The names that are recorded in the Lamb’s Book of Life are those who have trusted and obeyed the Lamb, Jesus, the Son of God. Those whose names are recorded in the Lamb’s Book of Life will inherit ETERNAL LIFE in heaven (Revelation 21:27). Jesus will add OUR names to His Book of Life when we by faith (Acts 16:30-31) turn from your sins in repentance (Acts 17:30-31), confess Him before men (Romans 10:9-10), and are baptized (immersed) in His name for the forgiveness of sins (Acts 2:38). THEN we must continue to follow His will as revealed in the Word of God lest our names be "blotted out" of the Book (Revelation 3:5). To have our names recorded in the Lamb’s Book of Life... we will NOT have to perform some death-defying stunt, but we do have to submit to the Savior who “defied death” and who by His death, burial, and resurrection opened the way for us to live eternally with Him in heaven. Is YOUR name in the Lamb’s Book of Life?
