The Road

When Robert Louis Stevenson retired to the Samoan Islands for health reasons,
he became to the natives of that island a kind and generous friend. Stevenson was concerned that there was only a path leading from the harbor of his island over which his new friends must walk in order to bring provisions to the interior. With his own money and personal efforts, Stevenson had a good road constructed for his people.
In gratitude the Samoans called it, "The Road of a Loving Heart."

Because of our desperate situation, God sent His Son into the world to
pave the way” back to a RIGHT relationship with God.
  In order for this
passage to become accessible, Jesus had to walk on a road that has been called
the Via Dolorosa, literally “the way of suffering.”  It was the road from Jerusalem
to Golgotha (“the place of the skull”) where Jesus was crucified.

You and I should also call this road, "The Road of a Loving Heart,” for Jesus traveled that road to His death so that you and I might live (1 Thessalonians 5:10).
On the cross, He paid the price for our sins so that we might have forgiveness and
be reconciled to God (2 Corinthians 5:17-21).  Through His sacrificial death, He has opened up for us a “new and living way”  to God (Hebrews 10:20)!

To access that way back to God, we MUST: place our faith in Jesus (Acts
16:30-31), turn from the path of sin in repentance (Acts 17:30-31), confess Jesus
as the Son of God (Romans 10:9-10), and be baptized (immersed) in His name for
the forgiveness of sins (Acts 2:38).  Then, we must CONTINUE TO WALK along that way in the light of His Word so that the blood of Jesus will CONTINUE TO CLEANSE
us from SIN (1 John 1:7).

Jesus said, "I am the WAY, the truth, and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through Me” (John 14:6).

Jesus traveled The Road of a Loving Heart" so that WE might have access to God.  He invites us to follow that Way that leads to eternal fellowship with our Heavenly Father.

Won’t YOU access that Way through your trusting obedience?

God bless you!
