businessman Lindsay Clegg told the story of a
warehouse property he was selling.
The building had been empty for months and
needed repairs. Vandals
had damaged the doors, smashed the windows, and strewn
trash all over the place.
As he showed a prospective buyer the property,
he took pains to say that he would replace the broken
windows, bring in a crew to correct any structural
damage, and clean out the garbage.
The buyer said, "Forget about the repairs. When
I buy this place, I'm going to build something
I don't want the building; I want the site!"
God's message to US!
Compared with the renovation God has in
mind for our lives, our efforts to improve our own
lives are as trivial as sweeping a warehouse doomed
for the wrecking ball!
we submit to God’s plan of redemption, the OLD life
He makes ALL things NEW!
All He wants is the site and permission to
wants us to give Him the "property"
and He will do the necessary "building."
All of this is possible because of Christ.
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a NEW
CREATION; OLD things have passed away; behold, ALL
things have become NEW" (2 Cor 5:17).
become a NEW creation in Christ.
Are YOU in
Christ, i.e., a right relationship
with God through Christ?
Bible teaches that we "get into"
Christ through our obedient faith:
"For you are all sons of God through faith in
Christ Jesus. For as many of you as were baptized
Christ have put on Christ"
(Galatians 3:26-27). The
Apostle Paul wrote to Christians saying, "Therefore
we were " buried " with Him
" baptism " into death, that
just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory
the Father, even so we also should walk in newness
of life" (Romans 6:4).
Once in Christ
- we cooperate with God in allowing Him to "
build " our lives into something in which
He will be glorified.
is SIN that wrecks our lives, but God can make ALL
things new – IF
– we will give
him our lives.
YOU allow the Master
Builder to build on your
