Barron Dixon, a police
officer for the Woodstock (Georgia) Police Department, was on his way
home after his shift when he heard a call from dispatch. A little
2-year-old boy had stopped breathing.
Dixon responded to the
call and immediately began CPR on the child. He was able to resuscitate
the little boy. The child was taken to a local hospital and was doing
well, the police department later reported.
Speaking of Officer
Dixon, the child’s mother told FOX5 Atlanta, “I think he is an angel
sent here from God. His presence was very needed at that time.” *
The Apostle Paul
described the fatal condition of those in sin: “As for you, you were
dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you used to live when you
followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the
air” (Ephesians 2:1-2a NIV).
But, the Apostle
continues, God sent Jesus to rescue us: “But because of His great love
for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when
we were dead in transgressions – it is by grace you have been saved.
And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with Him in the heavenly
realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages He might show
the incomparable riches of His grace, expressed in His kindness to us in
Christ Jesus. For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith –
and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so
that no one can boast” (Ephesians 2:4-9 NIV).
God will save by His grace those who respond to Him by placing their
faith
and trust in Christ (Acts 16:30-31), turn from their sins in
repentance
(Acts 17:30-31), confess
Jesus before men (Romans 10:9-10), and are
baptized
(immersed) into Christ for the forgiveness of sins (Acts 2:38). He will
continue to cleanse from sin those who continue to walk in the light of
His Word (1 John 1:7-9).
At just the right time
(Galatians 4:4), when we desperately needed Him (Romans 5:6), God sent
Jesus to rescue us from sin (Galatians 1:4). When we accept His offer
of salvation, He washes away our sin (Acts 22:16) and gives us the gift
of eternal life (Romans 6:23).
Now is the time to
accept His gracious offer (2 Corinthians 6:2).
Won’t
YOU?
